What is your screening process?
We check references and samples and will call or write back and forth with you to obtain the information we need about your experience, background, and level of expertise.

What documents do you need from me in order to get started?
We would like the following: samples, references, word version of resume, cover letter or experience summary, project list, client list, signed contract, and w-9. These items can be emailed to us at admin@telecommutepros.com, and the contract and w-9 are available to download on our site.

Why do you ask for references?
We recommend our contractors highly to our clients and want to know more about your background and experience. This is a very important piece of ensuring quality work to our clients.

What if I don’t have any references?
Write admin@telecommutepros.com and inquire about other options. We prefer references but can offer alternatives in certain circumstances.

Why do you ask for a client list?
This is an optional item but helps us so that we don’t send your name to someone for whom you already work. We do not want to take your current clients but desire to expand your client base. This is to help us know who not to contact as a potential client and when to check with you before contacting someone at a larger company where there may be multiple project managers in various locations.

Can I work for you if I’m not in the US?
Yes, all the documentation asked for is needed in this case, except the w-9. Please contact us for more information about this.

Can you provide references?
We can connect you with current contractors who can serve as references. These can be provided on request.

Why do I have to sign a contract before I get an assignment?
The contract is just a general contract but ensures us that you are willing to work with our policies and ready to start work should a project land. This is a necessary requirement before you do a project for us.

What is the purpose of the non-compete section of your contract?
We need to ensure that if we connect you with a client, you will not solicit them directly for business or pursue projects directly with them rather than through our company. You are working through us but will sometimes have direct contact with clients, so we need to know that you will respect the time and effort we put into finding and maintaining clients. We know you may have your own clients and respect that highly. We don’t want to take your clients but want to ensure that clear communication is kept up to avoid any confusion.

What is your payment policy?
We typically pay within 30 days of invoicing upon completion of a batch or project. Some projects are paid in pieces and others are paid upon completion.

What are your rates?
Our rates vary depending on the type of project. We respect our contractors’ expertise and will work with the rates you feel make sense for you. You always can turn down work if the rate does not work for you.

How do you ensure the safety of my personal information?
We keep all personal information in secure files in a locked office. We do all we can to protect your information.

With whom do you share my resume, samples, etc.?
We share your materials with clients and potential clients who are looking for people with qualifications like yours. We can limit this to clients you approve if you’d like.

Do you post my personal information, samples, etc. online?
We do not currently do this but may in the future. We would let you know before we posted any of your information online.

How do you decide who takes a specific job?
We determine the client’s needs and match them to the person that best fits their needs, timeframe, etc.

Can I turn down a job offered to me?
Absolutely. You have final discretion in the negotiation process about whether to accept a job. Of course, once you accept a job, you have committed to complete it on time and to the specifications given. If problems occur, you’re expected to inform us immediately so we can make the necessary adjustments.

How do I find out about available opportunities for work?
We will inform you as potential jobs come in and then you can tell us whether you are available and able to take each assignment.

How do I know you pay reliably?
We can connect you with current contractors who can serve as references. These can be provided on request. They can vouch for our prompt payment, etc.

How much work can I expect?
The workload varies so we can’t guarantee a regular workload, but we will guarantee that we will work hard to find work that fits your background and experience.
